Help: Sending feedback

Remember to send feedback to the seller after you’ve purchased via an Auction or Buy Now ad.

Why should I send feedback?

Feedback & Ratings are important as they:

  • help you build a reputation on the quality your trading experience
  • allow you to check the reputation of another trader
  • provide sellers and buyers with the incentive to trade fairly

After all, if a member doesn’t keep to their end of the deal it may result in negative feedback and affect their ability to buy or sell on Trading Post® in the future!

About sending feedback

  • Feedback you send is:
    • visible to all sellers and buyers in your member profile
    • cannot be edited – you can’t makes changes to feedback you send or receive.
  • Provide feedback after you’ve received the item and when you consider the sale to be complete.
  • Try to resolve any disputes or misunderstandings with the seller before sending any negative feedback. A majority of sellers will attempt resolve any issues prior to receiving feedback in order to retain their trading reputation.
  • Remember feedback comments you send are a reflection of how you conduct yourself online.

How to send feedback

To send feedback and rate the seller:

  1. Find the relevant ad in your Ad Tools, under Buying, in Bought/won items.
  2. Click Send feedback.
  3. Click one of these options to rate your experience with the seller:

    sendingfeedback_2.gif Neutral

    sendingfeedback_3.gif Negative





  4. Type your feedback comments and click Submit.

What should I write in my feedback comment?
Consider the seller’s trading behaviour.

Did the seller:

  • Communicate promptly and in a satisfactory manner?
  • Describe the item correctly in the ad?
  • Deliver the item or allow you to collect it within a reasonable timeframe?

Questions about feedback

  • When do I receive the seller's feedback?
    The seller may send feedback after they have received payment and sent the item. They can only send feedback once and respond once to feedback they have received. Feedback is posted on your member profile.
  • What if I think the feedback I’ve received is unfair?
    If you consider a buyer’s rating or comments to be unfair, you can send a response to their comments. If you both agree you want to remove the feedback another option is submitting a request to withdraw feedback from your profiles.
