Help: Sell an item from your mobile
With Tradingpost Mobile, it’s now even easier and more convenient to sell your unwanted goods.
If you’re a Telstra pre-paid or post-paid mobile phone customer, you can use your mobile phone to place a Classified ad on Tradingpost and have the fee charged to your mobile phone bill.
Placing an ad via your mobile
You can place a Classified ad via Tradingpost Mobile by following these steps:
- Use your mobile phone camera to take a photo of your item
- Choose your preferred category
- Add the description & selling price
- and upload the photo
We’ll send you a confirmation SMS with a unique Ad number for your records.
Your ad will then be available for sale across both the Tradingpost mobile and online sites. Remember, you don’t need to be a registered member with Tradingpost to sell an item via the mobile site.
What can I sell with Tradingpost Mobile?
You can create an ad for any item on Tradingpost Mobile, except for the following:
- Cars
- Motorcycles
- Trucks / vans
- Automotive Services
- Moving Home
- Pets – Free to Good Home
- Noticeboard
- Real Estate
- Rural Clearing Sales
- Travel & Holidays – Time Share
- Travel & Holidays – Accommodation & Resorts
To create an ad for these items, please access Tradingpost from a computer.
Remember to check our list of prohibited items as well as we won’t accept ads for these items.

- How do I access Tradingpost Mobile?
If you’re a Telstra Mobile customer on a data plan using the 3G network, with an internet connection set up on your phone, you can do the following:- Go to http://m.tradingpost.com.au
- Select Sell Item
- What are the fees and how does the billing work?
You’ll be charged 4% of the selling price up to a total charge of $29.95. The fee will be added to your mobile bill, or it will come out of your prepaid balance if that’s the plan you have. - How do I make a change or delete an ad?
At this stage, you can’t make changes to or delete your ad after it’s been submitted. You can however, make changes by contacting us. You’ll need to provide your Ad number (from your confirmation SMS).
*Data retrieval charges do not apply for Telstra Next G and 3G customers browsing Tradingpost Mobile, however retrieval charges may apply for other users. Please check with your mobile service provider for more information.
