Help: What to do when you sell your item
You sold your item? Awesome! What happens next depends on the kind of ad you placed.
Classifed ads
You will already have had contact with your buyer. Once they’ve agreed to buy your item, you need to remove it from the site. This is pretty easy to do, and you’ll find full instructions here.
Buy now ads
Step 1: The buyer completes their checkout
The buyer will go to their checkout, where they’ll select the payment and delivery method they prefer. We’ll send you an email letting you know what they are.
Step 2: The buyer pays for the item
You need to check the options the buyer has selected for payment and delivery, and if necessary, send them any additional information they may need to pay you, such as bank account details.
Step 3: Confirm that payment has been received
Once the buyer has paid you, the status of your item will appear as “Confirm Payment”. Check that you’ve received the payment, and that the amount has cleared before sending the item or making arrangements for delivery.
When you’ve checked that you’ve received the payment, sign into AdTools, and click “Confirm Payment” to let the buyer know you’ve received their money.
Step 4: Organise for the item to be delivered or picked up by the buyer
Once you’ve received payment, work with the buyer to organise pick up or delivery. If you’re posting the item, sign into Ad Tools and select the item, then click “Seller to send Item” to let the buyer know you’ve put it in the mail.
Step 5: Leave feedback
Rate and leave feedback for the buyer to help others who may deal with them in the future. The buyer will also leave feedback for you.
What to do when you’re having difficulties with your buyer
If you’re having issues with the buyer, for example, they’re not returning your efforts to contact them, or they’re refusing to pay, there’s a few things you can do to resolve the issue.
