We have therefore developed these guidelines for you to follow when communicating with members, non-members and the Trading Post® via the following services ("Services"):

Guidelines for communications via Services

It is important that you read and understand these guidelines as they address our standards for submission of questions, responses, comments or any form of communications via these Services.

These guidelines will change over time, so it's important that you check these guidelines for updates, new information, or additional information, each time you submit details via these Services.

These guidelines are supplementary to the Terms of Use. Any details you submit via the Services must also comply with the Terms of Use. We encourage you to check out the Terms of Use before you submit any details.

When submitting questions, responses or comments via these Services, please ensure that you adhere to the following guidelines:

Appropriate comments

  • Your comments should be candid, courteous and fair.
  • Your opinions must be based on reasonable grounds and be genuinely and honestly held by you.
  • Please refrain from overly harsh or snide comments or gratuitous criticism of other member’s comments.
  • When submitting information to members, please be patient with other members. Members have varying levels of experience on Trading Post Online.

Stay safe

  • Do not enter your private or personal information using our Services.
  • Do not agree to meet anyone directly through our Services.

Inappropriate content

You must ensure that any details you submit via any of the Services do not contain inappropriate content.

Trading Post® reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to remove details submitted via these Services in the following circumstances, including but not limited to:

  • Harmful or abusive language, expletives or profanities, obscenities, racist language, discriminatory or harassing, threatening, offensive, vulgar or sexually explicit language;
  • Commercial messages or advertising material;
  • Defamatory comments;
  • Information that personally identifies you or any other person, such as actual names, phone numbers, mailing addresses, email addresses, URLs, photos or other pictorial representations. (The only exception being when member or non-members provide contact details via the “Make an Enquiry” or “Email a Friend” Services);
  • Confidential information;
  • Materials other than text (e.g. executable files, html);
  • Any illegal material;
  • Posting copyright content without permission of the owner;
  • Comments that advertise other websites, other message boards or other companies; or
  • Comments that advertise or reference other websites, message boards or organisations, for example, law enforcement agencies, Trading Post®, Sensis or Telstra.

Please bear in mind that this is a non-exhaustive list and you should exercise careful judgment before submitting any details via any of the Services.

Members should note that they may be held legally responsible for damages to another members’ reputation if a court were to find the remarks defamatory.

Breaches to this policy

Trading Post® reserves the right, in its sole discretion to remove, or prevent submission of, any content sent via these Services that are in breach this policy or the Terms of Use.

Breaching this policy may result in ad cancellation and/or account suspension. A cancellation of ads does not entitle you to a refund.
