To help guarantee a successful sale of your item you need to:
- respond quickly to buyer’s questions and provide clear and helpful answers
- track the bidders and buyers who are interested in your item
- make contact with buyers when the item sells.
Good communication will help you build and maintain a great reputation within the Trading Post® community.
While selling your item…
While your Buy Now or Auction listing is active take a look at:
- who is bidding on or buying your item and check their feedback and ratings
- a buyer’s bidding behaviour and consider whether they’re genuinely interested in your item.
Respond to buyer’s questions
Respond quickly and clearly as the buyer may be looking at other similar items. You may choose to publish your questions and answers for the benefit of other potential buyers – it may spark their interest in the item.
Get to know your buyer
Take time to check up on your buyers and bidders to make sure they’re the type of person you’re willing to sell to.
Ban buyers or cancel their bids if you think they’re untrustworthy
If there is a particular buyer or types of buyer that you don’t want to sell to, you have a few options to prevent them from placing bids on you item. If you think a bidder is not genuine you may also consider cancelling their bid.

Congratulations on selling your item! Now there are a few steps you need to perform to complete the sale.

Check out all the steps to completing the sale – from arranging payment and delivery, to sending feedback or perhaps sending a 2nd Offer.
Classified ad
Now it's time to mark your item as sold. This will remove your ad from the Trading Post and help to reduce the number of queries you are receiving.
