Sell your item for a fixed, non-negotiable price.
Sale takes place completely online.
Buyers can ask you questions about the item anonymously via tradingpost.com.au to help their buying decision.
You can publish a buyer’s question and your answer for the benefit of other buyers.
Contact details are only exchanged with the successful buyer via email when they confirm their intention to Buy Now.
The successful buyer provides feedback and rating on their transaction with you.
Only available to ads placed online and limited to select categories.
Choose to list your item for 1, 3, 5, 7 or 14 days.

Auctions with a Buy Now price

You can specify a Buy Now Price for an item you are auctioning to allow buyers to choose to purchase your item immediately.

Items that buyers will not need to inspect before deciding to purchase.
More common items that can be easily valued.

How do I sell with Buy Now?

Creating a Buy Now ad is easy.

Click on the Sell tab on the homepage and follow the steps to start creating your ad.
Choose the category that best suits the item you’re selling.
If you’re not sure, look to see what categories other sellers have chosen for similar items.
Select Buy Now under How do you want to deal with buyers?

This automatically sets your ad as a Buy Now ad. If Buy Now does not appear on the screen, the item category you selected does not allow you to sell using Buy Now (e.g. cars, pets).
Type in the sale price of your item.
This price will be included in your ad and is the price at which the buyer will purchase.
Specify the duration of your ad – 1, 3, 5, 7 or 14 days. The longer your ad runs, the more time buyers have to find your ad.
Follow the remaining steps to complete your ad, including your preferred payment and delivery methods and selecting an ad package.
Note: The cost of your ad will depend on your item price and the package you choose.
A success fee is payable only if you sell your item and is based on the item price
You will be notified by email and My Trading Post® when a buyer agrees to buy your item.

Rules for Buy Now ads

There are guidelines for Buy Now ads regarding contact details and pricing.

Contact details

Because you are using Buy Now to transact online, do not include contact information in the ad, such as:

name (first name, last name)
address (street, suburb)
telephone numbers (fixed, mobile)
email addresses or URLs

This includes numbers written as words (e.g. twenty three) that are used to provide address or telephone details.

Contact details will be exchanged with the buyer via email after your item sells.

Adding pricing information

The pricing fields are used to display item prices. You should not type additional prices or prices for extra items in the item description.

Buy Now ads containing contact details or information on prices in their item description will be removed from the site by our Online Trading Post team.
