The advantage of selling with Classified is you can also choose to advertise in a Trading Post publication in your local area.
What items are good to sell with Classified?
- Items that the buyer will want to inspect before deciding to purchase
- Items for which you want to negotiate the price
- Large or expensive items (e.g boats, cars, motorbikes)
- Pets
- Items not suitable for posting
How do I sell with Classifieds?
- Creating a Classified ad is easy.
Click the Sell tab from the homepage and follow the steps to start creating your ad.
- Choose the category that best suits the item you’re selling. If you’re not sure, look on tradingpost.com.au to see what categories other sellers have chosen for items similar yours.
- If you're selling items like a vehicle, boat, pet or Wanted item:
Choose your ad package (Premium or Value), and decide whether you want to place your ad in the paper as well.
For all other items:
Select the Classified tab from the 3 ad type options. This automatically sets your ad as a Classified ad.
- Type in the selling price for your item. This price will appear in your ad.
- Follow the remaining steps to complete your ad.
How much will my ad cost?
The cost of your ad depends on your item price and the package you choose.
How do I place a Classified ad in the paper?
When you sell with a Classified, you can also place a print ad in a Trading Post paper or magazine.
After selecting a category
- Depending on what you’re selling, you can either:
- Select the Trading Post publication you want to display your ad in.
- Type in the Print ad title and Print ad description, then follow the steps to finish creating your ad.
Ads submitted before 5:30pm Tuesday EST will be published in the relevant paper that week. Ads received after the deadline will be published the following week.
