What category is best for my item?
Choosing the best category for your ad helps buyers find your item and gives you the best chance of selling your item.
Selecting the best category is important, so take time to:
- Do your homework Look for similar items on Trading Post, check their category and the titles they use.
- Think like a buyer If you were looking for your item, where would you go first? How would you search for it? What keywords would you use?
Select a category
The Trading Post has a list of categories to help you place your ad where buyers can find it easily.
How to browse through categories
- Select the main category which you think best fits your item.
- Choose from the sub-categories that appear for that category.
- Continue refining your category by selecting from the lists until a message displays telling you that you have finished.
Can’t find the category you’re looking for?
If you can’t find the specific category you’re looking for, please contact us to suggest a new category.
We’re always looking to improve our website and welcome any comments or suggestions you have. We review all suggestions for new categories and update our category options regularly.
