Help: How Trading Post protects you
Trading Post® aims to provide you with a safe place to buy and sell online. Here are some of the ways we do it.
Registration
We don’t let just anyone trade on our site. Everyone must register as a member before they can buy or sell on Trading Post® Register here.
We’ll need to ask for your:
- name
- contact phone number
- valid email address.
Strict password requirements
A good password is one that is hard for someone else to guess. Our strict password requirements help ensure member passwords offer maximum protection.
All passwords:
- must be between 6 and 30 characters
- are case sensitive
- must include at least 1 mixed case letter (a combination of upper and lower case letters), number or special character.
We strongly advise that you change your password regularly to help maintain the security of your registration and personal details.
Feedback & Ratings
Buyers and sellers accumulate feedback & ratings from people they trade with on tradingpost.com.au. Over time , this allows them to build up an online reputation within the Trading Post® community.
You can view the feedback and ratings of another buyer or seller to help you judge their reliability as a trader. We recommend you always do this before you transact with someone. Learn more.
Rules and policies
Like all big companies, we have a comprehensive set of policies and advertising rules. ‘Blah blah blah’ we hear you say. Well, as boring as they all sound, they really do help us protect you and your personal details, and provide you with a positive experience.
Amongst other things, our rules and policies govern how:
- we protect your privacy
- we promote a safe and enjoyable trading environment
- we resolve any disputes or inappropriate activities on the site
- you may advertise and what you may advertise with Trading Post®.

Credit card security
We’re not credit card security gurus, so for security purposes, we don’t store your credit card number. All credit card details are securely stored by Payflow, a product of PayPal Private Limited, a leader in online payment systems. Learn more.

While we do what we can to protect you, there are lots of things you can do yourself. Our Trust & Safety help section provides access to resources with information on safeguarding yourself against online fraudulent activities and the latest online scams.
