What is a Verified Trader®?
Through our commitment to providing a safe online marketplace, Trading Post has introduced Verified Trader®. Verified Trader® provides buyers and sellers with increased confidence when you know who you’re dealing with.
It is the first online seller authentication program in Australia and is part of the Trading Post Verified Trader program.
Who can become a Verified Trader®?
Anyone who buys and sells with Trading Post® can become a Verified Trader®.
Sellers and buyers can:
- Immediately gain buyer or seller confidence as your identity has been verified by Australia Post™, one of Australia’s most trusted organisations and experienced in providing identity services.
- Instantly boost your online reputation as a seller with the Verified Trader® insignia which will:
- appear in all your ads and
- alongside your ads in the search results

Verified Trader® is a verification process for Trading Post buyers and sellers. It's not a buyer protection program. We're aware of times where fraudsters have misled buyers by saying Verified Trader will protect the money they've paid for items. In most cases, these items are fake or don't arrive. Please don't respond to any email that makes that promise or asks you to send money via a money transfer service like Western Union. And let us know ASAP if you receive on of the emails!
Trading Post® dealers qualify for Verified Trader® status
Trading Post® Hotlist dealers gain Verified Trader® status because they:
- maintain a good ongoing commercial relationship with Trading Post®
- have an established advertising record with Trading Post®; and
- have been verified through a proven credit rating and payment record with Trading Post®
How do I become a Verified Trader®?
If you are a registered Trading Post® buyer or seller, you can become a Verified Trader® easily and for FREE for a limited time.
- Simply apply for Verified Trader with Trading Post.
- A pre-populated Verified Trader® application form will be sent to your email.
- Print the document and take it to a selected Australia Post™ outlet you’re your identification documents for verification
You can apply for status as soon as you register to become a Trading Post member.
Please Note: *Identification Services fees for Verified Trader applications are currently waived. Normal fees are: 100 Point Identification Check $25; KeyPost Business Identification $35. Trading Post® reserves the right to introduce application fees for Verified Trader at anytime in the future.
