1970 matchbox cars value Page 4

Pricing for 1970 Matchbox (Lesney) cars is all about condition, rarity and whether that tiny box survived the last half-century.

Loose, play-worn examples usually fetch around AUD $5–$25 each, while clean, complete pieces commonly sit at AUD $30–$80.

Mint-in-box (effectively “new old stock”) is where wallets squeak: many run AUD $80–$300, with rarer castings/colour variations or gift sets stretching to AUD $500+.

Provenance, original packaging, matching parts and factory variations matter far more than nostalgia, cruel as that is.

Check recent SOLD prices on local auctions, collector groups and classifieds (including Tradingpost) rather than daydreamy asking prices.
