2005 toyota kluger review Page 2

The 2005 Toyota Kluger is the family SUV equivalent of a well-worn footy jumper: not glamorous, but it never lets you down.

Its 3.3-litre V6 is smooth and quietly capable, hauling kids, Labradors and questionable IKEA purchases without breaking a sweat—just keep a gentle right foot if you don’t fancy frequent bowser visits.

Space is generous, the ride comfy, and the optional third row is fine for short trips or small humans you’re not especially fond of.

Front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive were both available, and the cabin materials age better than most New Year’s resolutions.

When shopping, look for a solid service history (timing belt, fluids, suspension bushes) and make sure the air-con and electrics behave; neglected examples feel tired fast.

If you want drama, buy something European; if you want years of easy motoring, this old Kluger will plod on like a country postie.
