Upgrading a 2006 Ford Territory’s stereo is doable, but the factory ICC ties the head unit to climate controls, so you can’t just jam in a cheap double-DIN and call it a day.
Use a Territory-specific fascia and wiring interface to retain HVAC and steering-wheel buttons, then fit a modern unit with Bluetooth and CarPlay/Android Auto.
If you prefer the stock look, add a plug-in Bluetooth/aux interface to the ICC or run a quality line-level converter to an amp; pair it with 5x7" (6x8") door speakers or 6.5" via adapters, plus a discreet under-seat sub for proper punch.
Disconnect the battery before surgery, route power through a spare firewall grommet, and don’t butcher the ICC unless you fancy festive warning lights all year.
A competent auto sparky can sort it in half a day; budget roughly AUD 600–1,800 in parts depending on head unit, interfaces, and whether you add amps or speakers.
