The 2006 Toyota Kluger is the family SUV equivalent of a comfy pair of boots: not flashy, but it just gets on with it.
The V6 petrol is smooth and durable if serviced properly, the ride is cushy, and seven seats were available for kid-hauling duty. Handling is safe rather than exciting, and real-world fuel use sits in the low teens per 100 km if you drive like a normal human.
Check for a complete service history, timing belt replacement on schedule, tired suspension bushes/struts, oxygen sensors or coils past their prime, and uneven tyre wear on AWDs. Tech and safety are dated now, but a tidy example remains a tough, quiet tourer that will outlast your patience with school traffic.
