2007 mitsubishi pajero diesel problems Page 2

The 2007 Pajero diesel (3.2 Di‑D) is tough as old boots, but like any veteran tourer it has a few party tricks you should know about.

• EGR and intake soot build-up can cause rough idle, smoke, or limp mode; periodic cleaning helps.
• The suction control valve (SCV) on the fuel pump can cause hard starting or surging; replacement is common and not ruinous.
• Split intercooler/turbo hoses and boost leaks sap power; silicone replacements are a popular fix.
• Hard towing and heat can stress the auto transmission and cooling system; fresh fluids and an auxiliary cooler are wise if you haul.

Listen for unusual rattles, keep services on schedule, and get a proper pre-purchase inspection—especially if it’s done the Big Lap with a caravan in tow.
