The 2008 Toyota Kluger is the school-run sofa: soft, spacious, and almost impossible to upset. Power comes from a 3.5‑litre V6 (~201 kW/337 Nm) with a 5‑speed auto and FWD or AWD, hustling the seven-seater along but returning about 11–12 L/100 km. Ride comfort and cabin space are excellent for its era, with a flexible second row and a third row that’s fine for kids. Handling is secure more than sporty, and road noise stays civil unless you fit shouty tyres. Common gripes are modest: ageing infotainment, the odd water‑pump or ignition‑coil niggle, and tired engine mounts on higher‑km cars. Towing is a handy up to 2000 kg braked, so the family trailer doesn’t have to stay in witness protection.
