200 series timing belt interval Page 122

For the Toyota LandCruiser 200 Series, the V8 diesel 1VD‑FTV uses a timing belt that’s due every 150,000 km under Toyota’s schedule.

Most workshops pair the job with a new water pump, tensioners and idlers—cheap insurance when you’re already elbow‑deep in the front of the engine. Early petrol 4.7‑litre 2UZ‑FE models also run a belt on a similar interval, while later chain‑driven petrols don’t have a belt to replace at all. If your cruiser’s history is murky, do it on time (or early) and sleep like a baby koala. For belt‑and‑braces certainty, confirm the interval in your VIN‑specific service booklet.
