2012 dodge journey review Page 3

The 2012 Dodge Journey is a seven-seat family bus that thinks it’s a tough cookie, but mostly it’s a comfy lounge room on wheels.

Later models packed a smooth 3.6‑litre V6 and six‑speed auto, which makes decent shove but also a healthy acquaintance with petrol stations.

Cabin space and storage are its party tricks—clever cubbies, a usable third row for kids, and a ride tuned more for school runs than mountain passes.

Downsides? Dated infotainment, hefty weight, and ownership reports of brisk brake wear, suspension bushings that get cranky, and the odd electrical gremlin; keep an eye on service history and recall completion.

Safety kit was competitive for its time (stability control, multiple airbags), but it feels its age next to newer rivals—buy on condition, not nostalgia.
