2021 mg mg3 core auto my21 review Page 2

The 2021 MG MG3 Core Auto MY21 is a cheeky little hatch that tries hard to impress on a budget. Under the bonnet, it packs a 1.5-litre four-cylinder engine paired with a continuously variable transmission (CVT), churning out about 80 kW and 150 Nm of torque—adequate for city jaunts but don’t expect fireworks on the freeway.

Inside, it offers a surprisingly spacious cabin with a touchscreen infotainment system, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto, which punches above its price point. However, the ride quality can be a bit bouncy, and the build materials feel cheaper than a sausage roll at a petrol station.

New, you’re looking at around $16,000 to $18,000 AUD, while used examples hover in the $12,000 to $15,000 AUD range depending on condition and mileage. For a no-frills, budget-friendly runabout, it’s worth a squiz on sites like CarShowroom or Tradingpost.

Overall, the MG3 Core Auto MY21 is a practical but unremarkable choice with a dash of flair. Always check the official MG Australia documentation for the nitty-gritty specs.
