The 2022 Toyota HiLux cabin is more hi-vis than high fashion, built to survive steel-capped boots and a stray pie crumb or three.

Most grades get an 8-inch infotainment screen with Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, chunky dials, and hard-wearing plastics that wipe clean faster than you can say “smoko”.

In SR and SR5 trims you’re looking at supportive cloth seats, with leather-accented upholstery and power adjustment available higher up the tree.

Practicality’s the party trick: big door bins, multiple storage cubbies, and a back seat in dual-cabs that’ll take adults without resorting to yoga.

Higher-spec models bring dual-zone climate (select grades) and smart-key start, while the workhorse variants keep it simple and tough.

Key bits: 8-inch infotainment, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, durable upholstery, dual-zone climate (select grades).
