Yes—the 2023 Ford Everest diesel uses AdBlue (DEF), keeping the exhaust squeaky-clean so you don’t have to drive like a saint.

The blue-capped filler sits beside the diesel cap, and you’ll want ISO 22241-compliant fluid only—no tap water, no backyard chemistry.

Expect consumption roughly 1–2 litres per 1,000 km depending on load and driving; the dash will warn you well in advance and then get increasingly shouty.

Run it completely dry and the Everest may refuse to restart after shutdown, which is a very expensive version of “I told you so.”

Top up little-and-often, keep the fluid sealed and cool, and consult the owner’s manual for exact intervals and capacities.
