2023 kluger review

The 2023 Toyota Kluger is the family wagon for people who’d rather glide than grapple.

The new 2.4‑litre turbo petrol replaces the old V6, and the 2.5‑litre hybrid remains the wallet-friendly pick; neither is sporty, both are effortlessly civilised. Ride comfort is plush, cabin quality is solid, and the seven-seat layout is really “5+2” because adults in the third row will get fidgety before the sat-nav even loads. Tech has improved and safety kit is generous, though the infotainment still prefers sensible shoes to dancing boots. Pricing sits mid-pack, but resale and running costs are where it quietly wins the long game. Want drama? Look elsewhere; want an easy life? This one remembers your coffee order.
