Australia’s 2024 LandCruiser Prado has finally landed with boxy retro styling and a new TNGA-F ladder frame.
Under the bonnet sits a 2.8-litre turbo-diesel with a 48V mild-hybrid system and an 8-speed auto, delivering 150 kW and 500 Nm to a full-time 4WD system with low range.
Towing is rated up to 3,500 kg braked, and the cabin scores big screens, Toyota Safety Sense, and nicer plastics your elbow will actually tolerate.
Grades like GX, GXL, VX and Kakadu return, and yes, queues are a thing—order now and bring snacks.
Off-road toys include multi-terrain modes, a centre diff lock, and improved crawl control, so it’s still more bush than boulevard.
In short, it’s the Prado you know—just stronger, smarter, and a tad pricier—because apparently inflation loves 4x4s almost as much as we do.
