The 2024 VW Golf facelift is a classic nip-and-tuck: subtle outside, meaningful inside—like swapping thongs for runners and suddenly going faster. You get a bigger, quicker infotainment setup with blessedly backlit sliders and cleaner menus, plus smarter driver-assist tech. Styling tweaks are mild—fresh bumpers, new LEDs, and an illuminated badge—while the GTI scores more power and the manual bows out overseas. Plug-in hybrids abroad gain a larger battery for up to around 100 km electric range, with the usual 1.5 eTSI and 2.0 TSI engines carrying on. Australian arrivals are tipped for late 2024 into 2025 with pricing likely a smidge higher than today’s. Same tidy hatch, fewer infotainment gripes, and a touch more sparkle—no miracle cure, but definitely the good vitamins.
