4jj3 power upgrade Page 5

Chasing extra grunt from the Isuzu 4JJ3? Stock figures in Australia are around 140 kW and 450 Nm, which is sturdy enough, but a quality ECU remap (with DPF/EGR intact) typically adds about +15–25 kW and +40–70 Nm on standard hardware.

A better intercooler and a tidy DPF‑back exhaust help with consistency under heat and towing, but don’t expect miracle peaks without pushing reliability.

Keep torque sensible (around the 500–520 Nm zone) to keep the Aisin auto and driveline sweet, and monitor EGTs like a hawk.

Big no‑no: deleting DPF/EGR—illegal in Australia, unroadworthy, insurance‑voiding, and wallet‑immolating if EPA gets involved.

Any tune can affect warranty, so use a reputable tuner, get before/after dyno sheets, and ask for a towing‑friendly, heat‑managed calibration.

Do it right and you’ll feel the shove without turning your ute into a hand grenade with a speedo.
