ac charging Page 26

AC charging feeds your EV through its onboard charger, the sensible, slippers-and-tea way to refill at home or work.

In Australia, expect Type 2 connectors and typical rates of about 7.4 kW (single-phase) or 11–22 kW (three-phase), depending on car and wallbox.

That translates to roughly 30–120 km of range per hour of charge, while public DC fast chargers are the espresso-shot alternative for road trips.

For the best results, use a dedicated EV charger on the right circuit and let the car schedule charging off-peak; your switchboard (and bill) will thank you.

Consult official documentation for exact figures.
