ac filter replacement Page 4

“AC filter replacement” can mean your car’s cabin filter or your home aircon—either way, it’s easier than finding a park at Bondi.

Car: drop the glovebox, unclip the access panel, slide out the old filter (watch the airflow arrow), vacuum the housing, and slide in the new one the same way round.

Home split-system: pop open the indoor unit’s grille, slide out the mesh filters, wash gently, dry completely, and refit; replace disposable pads rather than washing.

Service intervals: car every 15,000–30,000 km or 12 months; home every 1–3 months in heavy use (more often with pets or smoke).

Symptoms of a clogged filter—weak airflow, musty smells, foggy windows or dusty rooms—mean your fan’s working harder than it should.

If anything looks odd, stop and check the owner’s manual or call a pro; consult official documentation for exact steps.
