AI cars, or autonomous vehicles, promise to revolutionise driving by handing control over to algorithms rather than your two hands and one foot. These cars use a cocktail of sensors, cameras, and machine learning to navigate. While some models like Tesla's Autopilot or Waymo's fleet have made headlines, fully autonomous cars are still a work in progress and not widely available in Australia yet.

Key features often include adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, and automated emergency braking. Prices vary wildly, with some new luxury models offering partial AI features from around AUD 60,000, while fully autonomous tech is mostly in the prototype or fleet testing stage.

For now, you can find used cars with semi-autonomous features on sites like Tradingpost, but don't expect your car to chauffeur you to the pub just yet.
