The 2023 Volkswagen Amarok swaps old-school ute austerity for a genuinely modern cabin (even if you’ve still got mud on your boots).

Depending on grade you get a 10.1-inch or 12-inch portrait touchscreen and an 8.0-inch or 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, plus wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto.

Higher trims add power-adjustable, heated leather seats, a premium audio system, and dual-zone climate control, while work-focused versions stick to durable cloth/vinyl and big, usable storage.

It feels wider and more upmarket than before, with cleaner ergonomics, extra charging ports and switchgear that doesn’t squeak when the road does.
