Apple CarPlay dropping out is usually less “mystery gremlin” and more “cable, settings, or firmware throwing a tantrum”. Try a genuine, high-quality USB cable or go wireless if supported; flaky leads are the number-one culprit. For wireless, ensure Bluetooth and Wi‑Fi are on, forget and re-pair the car, and update both iOS and your car’s head unit firmware. Then turn off battery savers, VPNs, and “USB restricted mode”, and make sure CarPlay is allowed when locked.
If it still misbehaves, a dealer firmware update or head unit reset usually sorts it—yes, even in late-model utes that think they’re smarter than you.
