No—Ford ended local vehicle manufacturing in Australia in 2016, closing the Broadmeadows assembly plant and the Geelong engine works.
Today, Australian-delivered Fords are imported: models like the Ranger and Everest come from Thailand, while the Mustang is built in the USA, with others sourced from Europe.
The upside is that Ford still has a substantial design, engineering, and testing footprint here, including the You Yangs Proving Ground and development teams in Victoria.
So the cars arrive with passports, but plenty of the brains behind them still speak fluent Strayan.
