are subarus expensive to maintain in australia Page 2

Subarus in Australia tend to fall into the mid-range of maintenance costs—not exactly a bargain bin, but far from a luxury headache. Owners report that regular servicing and parts are reasonably priced, especially when compared to German rivals. However, the notorious head gasket issues on older models can hike up repair bills unexpectedly.

• Potential head gasket failures on older EJ engines
• Relatively affordable parts due to decent local availability
• Routine servicing costs align with other Japanese brands

Newer models have improved reliability, but as always, a thorough pre-purchase check and maintenance history review are your best mates. For pricing and service options, ServiceCentral and Tradingpost can be handy.
