atto 3 vs model 3 Page 13

BYD Atto 3 vs Tesla Model 3: SUV-height practicality meets slick sedan efficiency—choose your flavour of electrons.

Atto 3 pros: lower purchase price (about AUD 48–55k new; used from mid‑30ks), tall seating and hatch versatility, long warranty (6yr/150,000km vehicle; 8yr battery), and low running costs; cons: shorter real‑world range and slower DC charging (roughly 70–90 kW peak), plus a softer, comfort‑tuned drive.

Model 3 pros: longer range (around 500–620 km WLTP by variant), faster charging and broad Supercharger access, sharper dynamics, and strong driver‑assist tech; cons: higher price (roughly AUD 62–75k new; used from high‑30ks/40ks), firmer ride, and a sedan boot.

Energy efficiency tilts to the Tesla; cabin space and easy loading tilt to the BYD.

Test both on your usual roads, check home charging options, and run the numbers on insurance and servicing before you crown a winner.
