The BYD Atto 3 in Australia is the value‑packed EV SUV that makes the school run feel like you’ve cheated the petrol station out of a sausage roll.

It’s front‑drive with a single motor making around 150 kW/310 Nm, and comes with two batteries (roughly 50 kWh and 60 kWh) for WLTP‑style range in the mid‑300s to low‑400s of kilometres.

Charging is easy enough: AC ~7 kW at home and up to roughly 70–90 kW DC on the go, so 10–80% in about the length of a decent podcast.

New pricing usually lands in the mid‑$40Ks to low‑$50Ks AUD drive‑away depending on incentives, with used examples hovering from the high‑$30Ks to mid‑$40Ks AUD.

The cabin’s playful, the tech’s generous for the money, and the ownership pitch (long warranty, low running costs) is the real hook; not perfect, but hard to ignore at the price. Consult official documentation for exact figures.
