audi q7 problems australia Page 2

The Audi Q7 is a lovely way to move a suburb, but like any big luxo-barge, it has a few gremlins Aussie owners report.

If you’re shopping used, budget for an inspection and keep an eye out for these common issues:

• Diesel woes: DPF clogging on short-trip cars, EGR/NOx sensor faults, and occasional AdBlue system tantrums.
• Air suspension leaks or tired compressors on air-equipped variants, leading to a saggy stance.
• Cooling and oil leaks (water pump/thermostat, rocker cover areas) as kilometres climb.
• Electrical niggles: MMI/infotainment glitches, camera/parking sensors, and power tailgate quirks.
• Sunroof drain blockages causing damp carpets; plus front control-arm bush wear, inner tyre wear and the odd brake shudder.

Service history is everything; a pre-purchase inspection with a scan tool and a decent highway run can save you a king’s ransom later.

If you’re mostly city-bound, consider a petrol or give the diesel a regular freeway stretch to keep the DPF happy.
