australian motorcycle manufacturers Page 3

Short version: Australia doesn’t have a big-volume motorcycle manufacturer today; most bikes on local roads are imported from Japan, Europe and the US.

Historically there were small assemblers like Waratah, and these days you’ll mostly find boutique projects and limited local assembly—think Drysdale’s wild V8 specials, plus small-capacity brands such as braaap and Hunter using imported components.

If you’re set on something “Australian”, expect niche volumes, sparse dealer networks and a bit more DIY spirit; great for bragging rights, less great for next-day parts.

For mainstream choice, price and support, you’ll be shopping the import brands—no shame in that, unless your toolkit’s feeling lonely.
