The Australian Stink Bug is not your friendly neighbourhood pest but a rather unwelcome guest known for its pungent aroma when threatened. These bugs belong to the family Pentatomidae and are notorious for invading homes, especially in the cooler months seeking warmth. Size: about 1.5 cm long, colour: often a mix of brown, green, or reddish hues, blending well with foliage.

Common issues include:

• Staining furniture and walls with their foul-smelling secretions.
• Damage to fruit trees and crops by feeding on plant juices.
• Allergic reactions in sensitive individuals.

If you're battling these aromatic invaders, professional pest control or natural deterrents might be your best bet. For more info, check out Australian agricultural extensions or pest control advice on ServiceCentral.
