best 7 seater 2023

Picking the “best” 7-seater in 2023 is like choosing the best lamington—depends whether you value fluff, filling, or how messy the kids get.

• Kia Sorento — Pros: sharp value, proper space in rows two and three, efficient drivetrains; Cons: supply can be patchy and the third row suits kids best.
• Hyundai Palisade — Pros: lounge-like comfort, adult-friendly third row, heaps of tech; Cons: thirsty V6 if you hoof it and it’s a big unit for city car parks.
• Toyota Kluger Hybrid — Pros: frugal fuel use, quiet, easy to live with; Cons: third row is tight and wait times can test your patience.
• Isuzu MU-X — Pros: tough ladder-frame with serious touring credentials, strong towing; Cons: firmer ride and interior polish trails the posh SUVs.

Test-drive with the full crew, car seats and a pram—then buy the one that survives school-run chaos without raising your blood pressure.
