best budget suv australia 2023 Page 3

Hunting the best budget SUV in Australia for 2023? Here are options that deliver value without driving like a shopping trolley with a wobbly wheel:

• MG ZS/ZST — Pros: very sharp pricing and long warranty. Cons: performance and cabin polish are merely “fine”, and ride/handling are more comfy than sporty.
• Haval Jolion — Pros: heaps of kit and generous space for the coin. Cons: fuel use and resale aren’t class‑leading, and the suspension can feel floaty.
• Kia Seltos — Pros: excellent safety tech, roomy cabin, and a top warranty network. Cons: prices have crept up and base variants feel a bit basic.
• Suzuki Vitara — Pros: light, efficient, and easy to own. Cons: interior is dated and active safety is sparse on lower trims.

Shortlist two, test‑drive, and check servicing and insurance—your backside and budget get the final vote.
