best car of 2023 Page 9

“Best car of 2023” is like “best takeaway”—it depends whether you crave range, value, or the ability to tow half the suburb.

Toyota Corolla: pros—reliability, efficiency, resale; cons—plain to drive and spec creep nudges the price up.

Tesla Model Y: pros—strong efficiency, charging network, cabin tech; cons—firm ride and finish quality that can be… interpretive.

Ford Ranger: pros—towing grunt, cabin tech, broad model range; cons—size, parking stress, and thirst. Kia EV6: pros—range and very fast charging; cons—pricey and often scarce.

Shortlist the ones that suit your life, test-drive them back-to-back, and buy the one that makes the commute feel least like a chore.
