best dash cam for ford ranger Page 7

For a Ford Ranger, you want a compact dash cam that survives Aussie heat, plays nice with the windscreen sensors, and records sharp footage day and night.

Top-tier pick: BlackVue DR900X-2CH for 4K front/Full HD rear, cloud features, and buffered parking mode—budget around AUD 750–1,000 installed with a hardwire kit.

Best value: Viofo A229 Duo (or A129 Pro Duo) with 2K/4K recording, capacitors, and reliable parking modes for roughly AUD 300–500.

Prefer tiny and tidy? The Garmin Dash Cam 67W is discreet with a super-wide view and solid app support, usually AUD 300–400.

Whichever you choose, add a hardwire kit with low-voltage cut-off, a CPL filter to kill reflections, and mount just outside the sensor box for a clean view.

Hunting a bargain or a hardwire kit? Tradingpost often has new and used bundles so you can save coin for diesel and a servo pie.
