best ev suv 2023 Page 4

Asking for the best EV SUV of 2023 in Australia? The field’s stacked and gloriously nerdy, so here’s the short list.

• Tesla Model Y — Pros: huge charging network, roomy, brisk. Cons: ride can be firm, cabin minimalism isn’t everyone’s jam.
• Hyundai Ioniq 5 — Pros: lounge-like interior, smooth ride, clever tech. Cons: boot is merely decent, and stock scarcity made pricing wobbly.
• Kia EV6 — Pros: sharp to drive, long-range options, fast DC charging. Cons: more coupe-ish than SUV, rear glass is a letterbox.
• BYD Atto 3 — Pros: sharp value, solid safety kit, cheap to run. Cons: middling infotainment polish, smaller battery on base trims.

Pick based on charging access, space needs and budget; any of these will do the daily grind without drinking a drop of dino juice.
