best hybrid car australia 2023

Shopping Australia’s best hybrid in 2023? Here are three standouts with their quirks laid bare:

• Toyota RAV4 Hybrid — Pros: roomy, frugal (~4.7–5.0 L/100 km), strong resale. Cons: long wait times in many areas, ride can thump on rough roads.
• Toyota Corolla Hybrid — Pros: miserly fuel use, city-friendly size, strong safety tech. Cons: modest power, some road noise on coarse-chip bitumen.
• Kia Niro Hybrid — Pros: modern cabin, long warranty, efficient in the real world. Cons: pricier than small hatches, ride and tyre noise vary with wheel size.

Pick based on space needs, driving feel and availability—no single winner, just the right fit for your patience and postcode.
