For iPhone 12 and newer, a MagSafe-certified mount is the sweet spot: strong magnets, one-handed docking, and up to 15W charging with a decent 20W adapter.

Vent mounts are quick to fit but can sag and roast your phone in summer; dash or windscreen suction mounts hold steadier—just keep them low and out of your line of sight to stay legal across Australia.

Doing corrugated roads or spirited roundabouts? Choose a mechanical clamp or MagSafe mount with a stabiliser arm and avoid cheapies that wobble like a shopping trolley.

Wireless charging adds heat, so skip full sun and expect non-MagSafe Qi units to top out around 7.5W.

Plenty of solid options pop up on Tradingpost, but whatever you buy, check it clears airbags and doesn’t block vents or instruments.
