best lookout gold coast Page 8

For the best lookout on the Gold Coast, start with Best of All Lookout in Springbrook—ridiculous name, annoyingly accurate on a clear day.

Burleigh Head’s Tumgun Lookout gives you surf, skyline and smugness in one short hike, while Tamborine Mountain’s Hang Gliders Lookout is sunsets with extra drama. Need city lights? SkyPoint Observation Deck in Surfers is all glass, altitude and “wow, that’s my hotel”. For something coastal and breezy, try Elephant Rock at Currumbin or the Miami Hill (Mick Schamburg Park) for sunrise bragging rights. Pack a jacket—the hinterland can be 5–10°C cooler—and a camera that won’t panic at clouds.
