best micro car australia 2023 Page 4

In Australia 2023, the micro‑car grid is basically a one‑lap race: the Kia Picanto, with the Fiat 500e wandering in as the pricey EV wildcard.

Here’s the cheat sheet.

• Kia Picanto — Pros: cheap to buy (≈$17k–$23k new), easy to park, warranty that laughs at long commutes; Cons: modest safety tech and power, road noise at highway speeds.
• Fiat 500e — Pros: zippy EV torque, about ~300 km real‑world urban range, charming design; Cons: ~$52k–$55k new, tight rear space, limited regional charging.

Used Picantos are plentiful and affordable; used 500e stock is scarce for now.

Choose based on budget, charging access, and whether you want perky petrol simplicity or silent EV chic.
