best midsize hybrid suv australia 2023 Page 4

In 2023 Australia, the usual mid-size hybrid suspects lined up like this: Toyota RAV4 Hybrid, Nissan X‑Trail e‑Power, and Haval H6 Hybrid (with the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV lurking as a plug-in curveball). RAV4 Hybrid: pros—excellent economy, roomy cabin, stellar resale; cons—long wait times and a touch of road noise in base trims. X‑Trail e‑Power: pros—smooth, torquey EV-like drive and comfy ride; cons—costlier than some rivals and not as frugal as the Toyota in the real world. H6 Hybrid: pros—big spec for the money and punchy performance; cons—resale and dealer footprint still maturing, driver-assist tuning can be fussy. Outlander PHEV: pros—proper EV commuting with petrol backup and family-friendly comfort; cons—higher price and a bit less cargo flexibility than the non-hybrid. Try them back-to-back and pick the one that fits your commute, patience level for delivery times, and whether you can actually charge at home.
