best mobile phone for reception australia Page 6

Chasing the “best reception” phone in Australia is less about mythical antenna magic and more about picking the right tech for our networks.

Look for Telstra Blue Tick models if you spend time outside the big smoke; it’s a simple, proven cue for better rural coverage.

Choose a handset that supports 4G Band 28 (700 MHz) and Band 5 (850 MHz) plus 5G n28/n78—flagships like the iPhone 15 series, Galaxy S24 series, and Pixel 8 all do.

Pair it with the carrier that actually covers your patch (Telstra usually rules the bush), keep Wi‑Fi Calling on, and avoid dodgy import models missing our bands.

And please, don’t smother it in a metal-clad fashion-case that turns your signal into a decorative coaster.
