best off road wheels australia Page 10

Hunting for the “best” off-road wheels in Australia is like asking for the best hat—depends on your head and where you’re taking it. For touring and remote tracks, steel wheels are tough and repairable; for daily driving and weekend trails, quality alloys save weight and sharpen steering. Aim for around 17-inch diameter to balance tyre sidewall flex and brake clearance, and match the load rating, PCD, offset, and hub bore to your vehicle. Full beadlocks look heroic but are generally not road-legal for on-road use in many states; simulated beadlocks keep the look without the defect notice. Expect about $150–$300 per steel wheel and $250–$800+ per alloy, with prices climbing for lighter, stronger designs. Keep tyre size within your state’s legal limits and pick reputable, standards-compliant wheels—your wheel nuts (and insurer) will thank you.
