best performance mid length surfboard Page 3

Chasing the best performance mid-length? Think of it as the Swiss Army knife of surfboards, only with fewer bottle openers and more glide. Aim for around 6’6”–7’6” (198–229 cm) with ~38–50 L of volume depending on your weight and ego—er, ability. A sleeker outline, refined rails and a moderate rocker with single-to-double concave will keep it lively rather than lounge-room. Run a 2+1 for drive and hold, or a thruster if you want sharper pivots in punchier beachies. EPS/epoxy builds feel zippier and lighter; PU is smoother and more planted when it’s bumpy. If possible, demo a couple from local shapers—your surfing will thank you, and your excuses will mysteriously vanish.
